Titans Offseason Offense Overview
Quarterback
With Will Levis still on the roster, the Titans seem committed to giving him a chance. But let’s be honest—he’s the only quarterback on the roster right now, so what else are they supposed to say? I fully expect the Titans to sign a veteran, and culture-building guys like Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston make sense.
If I were the Titan's GM this offseason, though, all roads lead to drafting Cam Ward at No. 1. In that case, I’d target Gardner Minshew as a backup. Fans love him, he can step in if needed, and he’d keep the offense fun to watch. With Ward in the building, I’d also trade Will Levis, ideally to a team like the Rams, where he could develop behind Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay.
Moves I’d Make:
Draft Cam Ward at No. 1.
Sign Gardner Minshew to a 2-year, $18M contract (making him one of the highest-paid backups).
Trade Will Levis to the Rams for a 5th-round pick.
Depth Chart: Cam Ward, Gardner Minshew
Running Back
This is a low-priority position this offseason. Tony Pollard was arguably the best offensive player last season, and Tyjae Spears has shown flashes (when healthy). Joshua Kelley and Julius Chestnut are free agents, and I’d let them walk.
This draft class is stacked at RB, so I’d hold off on adding anyone in free agency and look for value in the draft.
Moves I’d Make:
Pass on free-agent RBs and look for a mid-to-late round draft pick.
Re-sign Chestnut to the practice squad after the draft.
Depth Chart: Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears (+ a draft pick or UDFA signing)
Wide Receiver
The Titans still lack firepower at WR. If Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (NWI) isn’t re-signed, the position becomes even weaker. While some fans want a big-name WR, I don’t think there’s an alpha available in free agency.
I’d focus on depth and reliability, bringing in Devin Duvernay (an elite returner who can be a gadget player), Joshua Palmer, and Justin Watson.
Moves I’d Make:
Re-sign NWI (3 years, $15-$18M).
Sign Devin Duvernay (3 years, similar deal).
Sign Joshua Palmer (2 years, $12-$15M).
Sign Justin Watson (1 year).
Depth Chart: Calvin Ridley, Joshua Palmer, NWI, Justin Watson, Devin Duvernay, Treylon Burks
Tight End
I’m comfortable with the current group. Chig Okonkwo is explosive, Josh Whyle has potential, and David Martin-Robinson could take a step forward. I’d bring Nick Vannett back on a cheap deal for depth.
Moves I’d Make:
Re-sign Nick Vannett (1-year vet minimum).
Depth Chart: Chig Okonkwo, Josh Whyle, Nick Vannett, David Martin-Robinson
Offensive Line
Fixing the offensive line is the top priority this offseason, especially if the team drafts Cam Ward. The right side was awful last season, and it impacted the entire offense.
I’d re-sign Daniel Brunskill and Dillon Radunz, take a low-risk, high-reward chance on Jedrick Wills, and bring in Mekhi Becton or Patrick Mekari for additional stability.
Moves I’d Make:
Re-sign Radunz & Brunskill.
Sign Jedrick Wills (2 years, $6M).
Sign Mekhi Becton (3-4 years, $8-$10M per year).
Depth Chart: JC Latham, Peter Skoronski, Lloyd Cushenberry, Mekhi Becton, Jedrick Wills
